Do I have to do anything?
If your DNS is not managed by ProHosting, you will have to update some DNS records, including name server and mail server records. We will provide the exact values when the time comes.
After your email is migrated, you will need to update your mail client configuration (for example Outlook, Apple Mail, or Thunderbird) so it uses the new server settings. We will provide those details when the time comes.
If you rely on FTP to interact with your website, you will also have to reset your FTP account passwords.
Everything else will be migrated without requiring anything from you.
When will the migration take place?
We will be migrating customers in batches throughout May. Sites whose DNS is managed by ProHosting will be automatically migrated.
For sites whose DNS is managed externally, we will schedule a time with you to update your DNS records and complete the migration.
ProHosting servers will be shut off June 1st, so externally managed DNS records must be updated before then.
How will I know when it is my turn to migrate?
We will contact you by email ahead of your scheduled migration window with clear instructions and timing details.
Will my website experience downtime during the migration?
We aim for zero or minimal downtime during the migration. In most cases, your site will remain fully accessible.
If any downtime is required, usually due to DNS changes, it will be brief and scheduled with you in advance.
Will my email experience any interruptions?
Email service should continue working normally during the migration. In rare cases, there may be a short delay in email delivery while DNS updates propagate, but no emails will be lost.
What happens if I do not update my DNS records in time?
If your DNS is not updated before June 1st, your website and email may stop working when ProHosting servers are shut down.
We strongly recommend completing any required DNS updates before this date.
How will the migration affect my pricing?
Your current monthly hosting pricing will remain the same. Domain registrations and renewals will be cheaper.
| Domain | Old Price | New Price |
|---|---|---|
| .com | $25/year | $17/year |
| .net | $25/year | $19/year |
| .org | $25/year | $17/year |
How will I be billed?
Billing will occur mostly the same way as it does now. We will use PayPal to charge your cards on the 1st of the month.
You will see PW Hosting (PWHOSTI) on your charge instead of ProHosting. You will also be able to manage your billing directly in the new admin portal.
Can I pay by check?
Yes. If you are paying by check, make it payable to:
PW Hosting LLC
530 Mission Dr
Midway, UT 84049
Please include the domain name you are paying for on the check so we can apply your payment correctly.
Will I have to make any code changes?
No. Your code and databases will be migrated in a way that does not require any changes.
Will my old emails still be available?
Yes. Your old emails will still be available after the migration.
Will my login credentials change?
No. You will access the new admin portal using your current credentials to access ProHosting NetAdmin.
Where do I log in after the migration?
You will log in through the new PW Hosts admin portal. A link and instructions will be provided before your migration.
Are we getting any new features due to the migration?
Yes. You will be getting many new features, including:
- Free SSL certificates for every domain, enabling HTTPS.
- Support for modern email protocols and security, including access from Android and iPhone devices.
- SFTP support.
- A new admin portal to more easily manage your domains and billing.
- Improved WebMail, File Manager, and Database Viewer.
- Automatic server failover, so sites should have better uptime.
Will my website files and databases be backed up?
Yes. We will perform full backups before migration to help ensure your data is safe and can be restored if needed.
What if something breaks after the migration?
Our support team will be available to quickly resolve any issues. While we do not expect problems, we will work with you to fix anything that does not behave as expected.
Can I opt out of the migration?
No. ProHosting services are being retired, so all customers must migrate to continue service.
Do I need to cancel my ProHosting account?
No action is required. Your account will be transitioned automatically as part of the migration.
Will my domain name stay the same?
Yes. Your domain name and ownership will not change.
Will my website IP address change?
Yes, in most cases your server IP address will change. This is normal and will be handled through DNS updates.
Are there any limits or changes to hosting plans?
Your current plan and resources will remain the same or improve. If there are any changes, we will communicate them clearly in advance.
Will my website be more secure after migration?
Yes. The new platform includes modern security improvements such as free SSL certificates, updated email security protocols, and more secure file transfer options.

You can also contact support through the new admin portal.
Can I contact support before my migration?
